Note for those who make their own computer program or use previous demographic programs. The NordicPopulation program is based on the cohort component method with several additional features added: see Page ‘Computer program/Structure and parameters, Part I, Section 2’. As explained on this page, the standard cohort component method without these additional features works with sufficient accuracy at least when immigration is at current levels.
